The Tufts Learning Center, also called the LearnCenter or AbsorbLMS, is an online learning portal with free instructor-led and self-paced professional development courses for the Tufts community created and taught by the Tufts community.

A: To access the LearnCenter, you MUST had have a Tufts username and active Tufts email address for at least 24 hours. When these are first created (e.g. if you are a new employee), it may take up to 24 hours for the data to get passed to the LearnCenter.
If you are not sure if your Tufts email address is active, send an email to the Tufts email address from a personal account or ask a coworker, and wait to see if you receive the email. If you do not receive the email, send a message to it@tufts.edu to request help with your email.
A: Ensure you are going to the Learning Center website, either directly from this link or from the Tufts Learning Center tile in AccessTufts (see above "How do I access the LearnCenter?").
If you still see the error, this may be caused because you worked or studied at Tufts before and your account was deactivated when you left. If this is the case, send a message to it@tufts.edu and let them know you are trying to access the LearnCenter AND that you worked or studied at Tufts in the past and now have been rehired/enrolled. Your existing account will be reactivated, and then you can proceed.
A: If you are trying to access a course in the LearnCenter, make sure you already have a Learning Center account! If you do not, the course link will not work. You must first go to the Learning Center website, either directly from this link or from the Tufts Learning Center tile in AccessTufts (see above "How do I access the LearnCenter?"), to create your account.
Starting at the Learning Center website is only required for your first access to the LearnCenter. After this, links to specific courses will work.
A: Navigate to the course you'd like to take. There is an option in the top right of the LearnCenter to search for a specific course. Click the name of the course to open the course page.

Instructor led courses are taught at specific times, called sessions, and you will enroll in a specific session of your choice. Click the Choose Session button. You will be taken to a screen with a list of all upcoming times the course will be taught. Under any session time, click Enroll.
A: Navigate to the course you'd like to unenroll from. There is an option in the top right of the LearnCenter to search for a specific course. Click the name of the course to open the course page.
You will be taken to a screen with information about the session you are enrolled in. Click Cancel Session.
A: Navigate to the course you'd like to change your session of. There is an option in the top right of the LearnCenter to search for a specific course. Click the name of the course to open the course page.
You will be taken to a screen with information about the session you are enrolled in. Click Change Session. You will be taken to a screen with a list of all upcoming times the course will be taught. Under any session time, click Enroll.
A: From the LearnCenter homepage, scroll down until you see a tile called Transcript. Click on that to see your certificates and a download link.
A: All learning modules in the LearnCenter have been tested on both Mac and Windows using Firefox and Chrome. If you are having an issue, please test on a Mac or Windows computer using Firefox or Chrome (not Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Safari, or mobile devices).
A: In the LearnCenter, search for HIPAA using the magnifying glass on the top of the page (be sure to spell it correctly with one P and two As).
The first time you take the course, you will take the course called HIPAA Training Basics. After this, the annually required course is called HIPAA Refresher Course.
