There is a weekly limit on the number of emails per week being through Qualtrics.

Email limits reset on a rolling basis, not on a specific day. For example, if I have a weekly limit of 300,000 emails and send out 285,000 emails on Wednesday, I have 15,000 emails that I can still send out Thursday through Tuesday. Once the following Wednesday comes around, I once again have availability for the remaining 285,000 emails.
What are the Qualtrics Mailer Email Limits?
As of 2/18/2025, the limits are:
- New users: 500 emails/week
- Existing users that have never used the Qualtrics mailer: 500/week
- Existing users that have used the Qualtrics mailer in the past: Variable limits were set based on historical usage. Qualtrics looked at a 4 year period to identify the highest weekly usage in that time, and set limits in increments of 500 based on that. All usage was rounded up.
- Example: A professor that sent 1,700 emails through the Qualtrics mailer once to a school three years ago and has never sent another email in the last three years has a limit of 2,000 / week.
- Example: A student that regularly sends 620 emails through the Qualtrics mailer per week will has a limit of 1,000 / week.
- There is no instance where any user was given a limit lower than they have currently set, or lower than they have previously sent in any one week peak over the last 4 years.
There is no current screen in Qualtrics where you can view your limit. You will receive an error message in Qualtrics if you are attempting to send more emails than your weekly limit. Reaching the limit is not likely as it was set on an individual basis to accommodate each individual's usual work. You can also contact it@tufts.edu and ask what your weekly limit is.
If you need to increase your weekly email limit through the Qualtrics mailer, contact it@tufts.edu with the number of emails you need to send per week and if the receivers have consented to receiving the email.
Checking Your Weekly Email Usage
To check how many emails you have sent in the previous week, follow these steps:
- Log in to Qualtrics.
- In the top right, click your user profile icon or initials.
- Choose Account Settings.

- If you see a bar at the top of the page with the option to switch to the older version of Account Settings, click Switch to Older Version.

- In the top horizontal bar, click Account Usage.

- Scroll down to the table. The first row is usage for you as an individual, and the final column is Allowed Outgoing Emails. The left number is how many emails you have sent in this time period.
- To see how many emails you have sent in the last week, or in any other time period, use the filter above the table.
